104. Captivating; Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul, John & Stasi Eldredge

Something like a self-help book for women, based on Biblical background. It's very very interesting at the beginning, because their ideas and discussion topics are so fresh, provoking, and well, captivating. It discussed about women's personalities as God's, women's needs (such as to be pursued, to be romanced, etc) are God's needs too... and that God too, romanced us, like lovers do.

As I said, initially it was very interesting to read it from that kind of point of view, to see women as God's finishing touch (as women were created last)... there were some very eye-opener ideas that I enjoy. However, by the time I read half of the book, I found myself frowning alot... and put a question mark at some of the paragraph because I felt strongly against what the authors wrote... particularly on the idea that "there is an incompleteness that haunts us, makes us yearn for one another... you complete me.... it's part of the man-woman design"

Then there's also about women's vulnerability, that women needs to show their men that they need them, feminity arouse masculinity.... puhhhleeeaaasse.

Anyway, overall, an interesting book. But I dont agree with all what the authors wrote, which I am entitled to. And I am abit indifferent about whether this book is something I would recommend to other people. I think I'd only recommend it to people who are open-minded, people who are already strong to begin with, so they don't get swept away by the authors' ideas.
