228. John, Niall Williams

Such a beautifully written book, as always anything by Niall Williams. A fiction based on real characters in the history of a bible. A story on John, Jesus' disciple during his banishment and the experience of the early Christians.

227. The Help, Kathryn Stockett

The book was SO good, so engaging, so powerful. I shed some tears as I finished it. Can't wait to see the movie. About a few black American women who joined to worked on a project that could forever alter their destinies and the life of a small town, to write in secret, a tell-all book about what's its really like to work as a black maid in the white homes. Despite the terrible risks they all will have to take, these women unite with one intention: hope for a better day.

The book resonates abit of my life, and the main character Miss Skeeter reminds alittle bit of me. And my heart breaks a little when i read how the man of her life took back his proposal and walked away from her life forever when she disclosed to him about her project. Instead of admiring her amazing bravery, her stand, her values, her hopes and everything she potentially can be.... he saw troubles, rebellions, obstacles down the future, non-conformity.... it makes me so sad. So sad.
